I need a projector under $3000 that will project images from a computer of computer generated drawings. I have been to a store that had a few set up and the colours came out wrong. I have also tried a few of my friends projectors and can't get the images to come out in the colours that they have been drawn in. The images I want to be able to show can be looked at under the gallery section of the web-site mindsoulspirit.com.au They are going to be presented in lectures and in rooms that will have some lighting that can't be blocked out. I would like to be able to use it for DVD's as well but if I have to buy two for the seperate purposes then that is what I will do. My main need is to be able to get accurate replication and view in a semi-lit room. Any help will be greatly appreciated - thanks.

The projectorcentral review (http://www.projectorcentral.com/canon_realis_sx50.htm)of the Canon SX50 rated it as the best for colour accuracy for computer generated material. Although a bit long in the tooth, I haven't seen anything with this feature set and price point since ( aside from the Canon SX-60 ). It's high res 1400x1050, and many in the > 3K forum favoured it a few years back before the Ruby arrived. It's street price in the US is within your budget.

The panasonic ax200 is very close to calibration out of the box. I would also hire a professtional calibrator to calibrate the projector.

Thanks for the info - it has been really helpful. From what I can learn, the projector you get will have a lot to do with being able to set it up properly and calibrated to what you are projecting rather than just take it out of the box and start playing.
I have always looked at the Lemens for the quality (probably because I will be using in a semi-lit room) but there seems to be more emphasis on the resolution. I suppose I need to get a happy medium between the two for the small price I can pay.
Will the panasonic AX200 and the Canon SX50 cover both data and movies?
Thanks again for the help.
