What are you all playing in? All the new gaming chairs that are hitting the market, the possibilities are endless!!!

I personally just picked up the Renegade Gaming Chair!! This thing rocks, I have a 7.1 surround system so i just use the speakers in the chair for addtl rear channel. Its kills these other "rockers that suck"
They even have that chair they had in 40 yr old virgin. That one is too over the top... PLus it isnt compatible with PS3 yet. Anyway....what are yoy guys\gals using?

I used to use a straight up folding chair lol in the middle of my bedroom. Or just lay in my bed.

I play on a 2-seater sofa and it's too comfortable. Thinking about it, a folding chair would keep me more alert, thus less respawning!

I have this chair from AK Designs, only its all black. I think it was $30 online at CC last year. I love it because I can move it wherever I want. The couch, love seat, etc. were too far back from the TV.

I don't think they make this chair anymore. I bought one last year too at CC.

I want to buy another one for my son, but can't seem to find it anywhere...The rocker chair they make is really too big.....

Have you seen these available anywhere?

Any other suggestions? I would like to find something similar to the AK chair linked here, but it doesn't seem to be available any more. The playseat evolutions would be nice but way too mcu for me..

I set up a folding camping chair in the middle of the room. It is the only way I can play well online. If I can't sit forward and/or centered in front of the tv, I tend to slack off :p

god i dont understand these gaming chairs...their built like total crap, they dont have cupholders, hell some dont even have arm rests...i was looking in Ashley furniture the other day and saw some reclining leather chairs that can be bought in singles for $250 each...they had cupholders, they reclined...granted they werent built to last forever but from what you guys are saying some of you paid almost $200 for some cheap "gaming" chair...gaming chairs gotta be comfortable, recline, and have cupholders to be called a gaming chair, at least to me! ha!

but ya anywho, if youve got an Ashley furniture near your house you might wanna look there...or go to Costco...i bought a trio of berkline individual leather seats with cupholders and remote controlled reclining for $1500 for all 3!!! i luuuuuvvvv em!!!!

My inlaws bought me the Renegade for Xmas. I had never really thought of using one before but I must admit that I am enjoying the sh** out of it. The speakers behind the head go great with my surround sound and the rumble is an added bonus.
Before that I used a king size top of the line bean bag chair ( http://www.cordaroys.com/ )and it is more comfortable than the chair, but the chair does keep me more immersed in the game.
BTW, it does have a cup holder as well as a drawer for all the other odds and ends you may want to store with it, and it also reclines.

I have a recliner in the other room and you can not use the tilt function properly with recliners that bring up your legs, way too awkward!! You are tilted back!!

The Renegade is the best I have used to date, with cup holder and reclines, with your body in the right position .

I need a solution as well... something that folds flat but more comfortable then your standard folding chair. My sofa is way too far away and I am getting SICK of sliding the sofa all the way up for gaming.

I had no idea there was a real market for gaming chairs. I think they are crap mostly and sit on my couch when playing. Why would you have your couch further back to watch TV than to play games?

My issue is really that I like to be much closer when playing games then I would for watching TV or Movies. I have an apt in NYC so each room serves a multitude of services.

How big is your TV and how far do you sit from it? My bro had a 19" in his bedroom and sat like 2 feet from the screen but I cant imagine sitting any closer than I do to my 52" I'd have to move my entire head to look at different parts of the map.

Same issue here, I prefer to be about 8' from my 50" RPTV when I game and my sofa is about 14' away... I have a great 7.1 setup for sound so I am only looking for a basic chair that is portable so I can put it away when not gaming.

Some of us get a little animated when we're gaming, armrests and cup holders get in the way. How on earth do you throw your controller at the screen when you're laid back in a recliner? You've got to be upright and on the edge of your seat to get the right velocity. :D

You get what you pay for with gaming chairs just like any other product. You do you homework and you can find some good, well built, chairs in just about any price range.

Buy the first thing you see off the shelf and you may wind up with a high school shop project.

I use one of those folding camping chairs. You know, the canvas ones that fold up and into the cylindrical bag. Only the one that I have has arm rests and reclines. Even has cup holders. I use it for gaming and sometimes even pull it out to watch movies in. This is deceptively comfortable. I've found myself falling asleep in it on more than one occasion.

Canvas Chair (http://www.target.com/Florida-Marlins-Canvas-Chair/dp/B000FNV4T8/qid=1199328448******br_1_10/602-4466613-5508642?ie=UTF8&node=3997831&frombrowse=1&index=tgt-mf-mv&field-browse=3997831&rank=pmrank&rh=&page=7)

It's kind of like that one, only no team on it, and reclines with a foot rest. Best $18 I ever spent.

I just use a chair my mother had. It's padded kinda like a sofa. Very comfortable and doesn't allow me to fall asleep.:D

trust me i get GREAT velocity when throwing my controller half way across the room!!! HAHA...no there are a few steps to doing it right!

1) get up and go to center of the room

2) get a good firm grip on the controller

3) bend down on the kness and start furiously thrashing controller against in floor

4) go spend $50 on a new controller to thrash out of frustration using steps 1 - 3 all over again

i just dont know how people can sit in those dinky gaming chairs...YUCK! spend some money and get something you can brag about!:p

the camping chair...:D i remember having 2 of those set up in my dorm room! footrests and all! those were the days...

as for quality "gaming" rocking style chairs, i have a few in my theater room from value city that match my recliners and they are far superior to any speaker free chair from target, walmart, meijer, etc... in build quailty and fabric. even better is that the value city chairs are cheaper than most at $50. i see crappier chairs at other stores for $60, $70, even $120.
the chairs i have, have also passed the children test after 1+ year.

if you have a value city nearby, the "gaming" style chairs are definitely worth a look.

otherwise, i strongly endorse the camping chairs too... as long as they have the footrests, of course!;)

*snip*

I wouldn't trade that type of chair for the world though. I need to lean forward and "get into it" and from the gaming chairs I've seen, they don't allow it the same way. Also, I need to remove it from the middle of the living room and store it somewhere in our condo, and I haven't seen any gaming chairs that can do that either

But when we get a bigger place, I might at least try out a gaming chair. I have a feeling I'll be back to my folding camping chair though. I really love that thing.

Wow, and all these years I thought I was the only one who gamed in the camping chair. So nice to hear that there are others out there who do. I love it because you can recline for the cut scenes, sit up for the action, and put it back in the sleve when I'm done. To be fair, I did originally get it for camping, but have since invested in a few more to keep in the garage with the tent. But for me and my super cramped living space, the camping chair is the only way to go.

I play Warcraft Frozenthrone online and I've been seeing some video-game chairs in stores, and i'd like to get one. The reason i am getting something like this, is that i need it to be very portable, and easy to move out of the way. I can't really put a nice armchair in the room, and i don't want a beanbags (http://hubpages.com/hub/Beanbags). So, i am looking at something like the Boom Chair. It looks very comfy, Can anyone recommend a chair of this nature, that doesn't come with all the stuff built in? All the ones i've seen looks small and expensive.
