14 AWG 4C CL3 vs. 12 AWG 2C CL3?
I've scoured the forums on this one. Which is better: double wiring the 14 AWG (which I guess would give me about 11 AWG) or just go with the 12 AWG?
Planning to use AIM 3's in a 7.1 setup. Any advice? Thanks!
Distance of the wiring run(s)?
14 should be more than adequate. Just a guess...
Max run will be 40 feet to the Left/right mains and the center channel.

Wow! Great link. Thanks so much.
Another question: I'm planning a 50 foot run of Quad Shield RG6 Cable to my pair of VTF-3 MK3 Subwoofers. (I actually talked to Dr. Hsu today for about 30 minutes and got some great advice.) The one thing I didn't ask him if this run was too long. I plan to use a Y-connector at the subs and then run the 50 RG6 back to my rack.
If you can't go balanced over that distance, then the RG6 will likely work just fine.
For your speaker cable, I'd go with the 2 conductor rather than 4 conductor, just because it's easier to terminate tightly.
