I have not been able to solve my audio sync issues after searching and trying many things. any help would be greatly appreciated!

this is my setup

dish network vip622 with hdmi going to

rca dlp hdtv

for audio receiver i use a sony strde-985 connected with optical cords

the problem is when i have my dish network on the audio doesnt sync up with the video. my xbox 360 is working great and i have it connected through optical on the same receiver. the problem is only with my dish receiver.

these are the setups i have tried:

1. i have connected the hdmi from my dish receiver to the tv and tried to then output from the tv digital out to my receiver digital in through optical and for some reason i cant get my tv to output in dolby digital so that wont work and even if it did it isnt in sync. (my tv manual says it can output DD but i cant get it to work with all the settings possible)

2. I have also tried to connect the hdmi straight to my tv and the optical straight to my sony receiver instead and it will now allow me to use dolby digital but it is not in sync with the video

3. I output a/v both using component cables and optical straight to my sony receiver then the video from my sonyreceiver to the tv with component cables as well. and this also leaves a sync issue

4. Ive gone through all dish settings and menu and still cant fix any suggestions maybe settings different?

So theres 2 problems I cant make my tv output dolby digital only pro logic
and theres a huge sync issue regardless

thanks for your help

also lets just say everything worked perfect what would be the best way to connect this stuff ? straight to tv then to audio receiver or all to receiver? or does it not really make a difference?
