I just noticed that the Oceans Trilogy is 5-6 weeks at Amazon, both for the Blu-Ray and HD. Walmart on-line says in stock.

Ordered mine from Warner the first week in October. Have received 2 emails from them saying it was backordered and would ship "sometime" in the next 30 days. Glad I'm not in a rush.

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon and it should be here tomorrow.

So can anybody confirm that this is not just a few local retailers that do not have the box set?
And that NO Retailer / E-tailer has the box set?

Update: Ok has anybody found HD-DVD at the local level and has any online store other than Amazon and now 'DVDPacific' shipping? And I wonder if they are really the HD-DVD versions as I had ordered a disc back in August from Amazon.. even my packing slip said HD-DVD but received a 'SD' version of the moive...which Amazon made good on.

Same here but with the 25% off and them not charging me till its shipped makes me happy and its worth the wait. I'm in no rush to get it as there are plenty of other movies out there to watch. But 3 hd dvds for $40 shipped is a great deal imo .

The same goes for me and the potter box set . I may not get it till janaury but as long as they don't charge me till then i'm fine. I have other stuff to buy and pay for

Between constantly not getting products to their vendors, and the single encodes, which hurt both sides (HD-DVD loses 5 gigs to squeeze on a BD-25 & BD losing 20 gigs to fit on a DL HD-DVD)Warner is quickly becoming, in my mind, the most unreliable studio.

Just as a note to avoid any attacks, I have been format nuetral since each format's inception so please do not assume the single encode comment as an attack on either format. Both suffer equally with the disadvantage varying by title.

I also ordered the new Alexander HDDVD in the same order and it was delivered last week. For all the (well-deserved) bashing of the WB store, they really seem to have turned things around.

I am an Amazon Prime member, and while it says that it's expected to ship today with a Thursday delivery, it is not listed as shipping soon in my account. Usually it is moved to "shipping soon" on Saturday or Sunday, with the package shipping on Monday and arriving on Wednesday. I hope to get a shipping notice today.

(By the way, my copy of Shrek the Third shipped yesterday and will arrive on Wednesday.)

I preordered the trilogy a month ago from Barnes and Noble using the 50% coupon. It says expected ship date is today, but the website says it's out of stock. Maybe there was some kind of distribution problem.

Amazon has been dropping the ball on all HD/Blu Rays lately. I preordered Face Off back in September and they listed the approximate shipping date within 48 hours but then my conformation email listed a date in mid December. But my status was preparing to ship and can not change or cancel. This is the third time them have done this to me in the past few months. And the really annoying thing is that after the release date it listed in stock for immediate shipping. And when you call them the refuse to cancel the order. They actually told me to reorder it again so it will ship out immediately then when I get my original copy in December just to send it back! Its funny that when I said I will cancel charges with my credit card then they were able to ship my order today!

I think the studio underestimated demand for this title in HD.

Walked into a Best Buy here at lunch and they had no Box Sets in HD DVD, they had several Ocean's Thirteen HD DVDs out, but the spot on the shelf for the HD DVD box set was filled with SD copies of the box set. They also only had 2 BD copies on the shelf.

No Best Buys in my area had the trilogy on HD-DVD. They did however have 2 copies of it on Blu-Ray :mad:

I went to my Best Buy at 11am, and the people there claimed the hd-dvd box set had already sold out. They claimed they had 8 copies of it. They had at least 16 blu-ray sets though.

I highly doubt 8 copies sell out in an hour in my town....oh well. :(

Blu-Ray doesn't have DD+ tracks as such while it is a mandatory spec for HD DVD. However, Warners encodes their discs with the same bitrate making the Blu-Ray tracks DD+ by stealth. There is no difference between the DD+ track on HD DVD and the DD track on Blu-Ray.

My Best Buy had none of the HD-DVD version in stock, they said they didnt get any. There was some in bluray tho. They didnt have any Shrek the Third on HD-DVD either.

I think Warner has been underestimating HD-DVD demand on alot of titles. Perhaps they have to be printed up so far ahead of release that they havent yet adjusted to the increased volume. Growing pains I suppose.

It must have to do with where your physical location is and where their hub is. Most of my orders seem to ship from Tulsa or Louisville.

Amazon prime isn't about getting priority on waiting lists. Its about getting free 2-day shipping. In my case, it paid for itself in about a month. I don't know what you were expecting.

Prime has been great for me. You just have to pay attention to whether or not what you are buying is really coming from Amazon. I would say out of 40+ deliveries this year 2 were not prime free. I love Prime. In terms of shipping, the only people that you get priority over is the free shippers, prime members and pay for shipping users will still have to slot up.

As for Oceans, I just got the set yesterday, but I can't watch it since its a Christmas gift.

Got my from Walmart and shipping already after Amazon delayed it.

So i cancelled the order and ordered from DeepDiscount. They they were backordered so I cancelled that order and placed an order with WHV yesterday. That order is still showing as "in process"

Not true for me. I've been in Amazon Prime for a couple of years and 90% to 95% of what I order from Amazon is shipped two days for free with Amazon PRime. And I get 400 to 500 packages a year from Amazon.

I emailed them, and told them to switch my order to the Blu Ray Version instead.

I know they made many more Blu Ray versions than HD DVD versions, counting on demand. Eventhough they obviously way underestimated HD DVD sales of the Trilogy.

So at least I'll get it in High Def, if not my first choice, it doesn't really bother me, I mean I prefer HD DVD, but I'll buy Blu Ray if its cheaper, like in a BOGO offer, or if its the only one available, like the case here.

Same, though I still believe its absolutely ridiculous that they arent shipping out orders in sequence of order dates. If I ordered my copy in September, I should get it before someone who ordered two weeks ago...but that's not what's happening. Warner is absofrigginlutely pathetic lately. They really need to get their act together. Not to mention their website and customer services are a joke. No wonder they got an F from BBB. They just. dont. care.

Almost bought it last night from DeepDiscount.com but held back. Its good being duel High Def owner but i felt like i betrayed HD-DVD. I buy all my WB titles on HD-DVD and not on Blu-ray, but someone screwed up on marking the set at my local Sunrise Records store. They marked the Blu-ray set as the regular dvd set and so i walked out if the store with my Blu-ray copy for only $32.99 Cnd :) (tag underneath showed it was suppose to sell for a regular price of $87.99)

man, the EXACT same thing happened to me. But I tried cancelling before it even charged my Paypal account! But nope, this morning I get an e-mail saying my order has shipped.

I am definately not using FYE.com ever again.


same here but I finally got mine today, it arrived in essentially a brown envelope no padding at all, I was very relieved that nothing was damaged.

there is no way I will ever purchase anything from FYE ever again.

I haven't looked at 12 yet, but from what I've seen on 11 it looks great. A lot better than 13.

Finally got mine at Walmart of all places.

I forgot I cancelled my order from Warner, and actually I had given up hope of getting it anytime soon.

I was just browsing at my local Walmart and saw it, so I'm pretty stoked!!!
