I want to add a +5v dc jack to my 1272 to run the hdfury. Has anyone here already done this or have any suggestions on how to do it best?

EDIT:

Oops, I misunderstood your post. I was thinking you wanted to mod the fury. :p

Just wondering if anyone has found an easy way to get regulated +5dc out of someplace on a 1272 to power the hdfury. Seems simple enough to do.:)

By the way, I've been following your thread. I'm really interested with your hdfury-1272 combo. I haven't bought it yet. Please post some screenshots.

Thanks,

Neil

I'll post some shots as soon as I can find my tripod, (recently moved) My digital camera is pretty old, only 3 megapixel so the pics may not do the actual picture any justice. I just came across a Sony DTR-HD1 digital tv receiver.... Gonna hook it up to the second ifb-11 in my pj.:)

Find a source of 12V...perhaps a cooling fan circuit.
Grab yourself a +5V Voltage Regulator and make up a small circuit to terminate to a DC connector on your PJ.

I have been waiting to hear how you go with the HD fury on the 1272

I have modified an IFB20 it now has a female 15 pin connector in it (HD should plug straight in now)

I was thinking of taking the 5V from that card to a jack on the face plate
Is the power in on the HD fury RCA or USB?

I'm running the fury with the power supply that came with it. It really works well. The picture is awesome. The power jack on the fury is a very small tubular type very similar to the one found on many LG cellphones but is NOT the same. The polarity is reversed. The other end of the cable that comes with it has a USB plug on it. I have read that the fury requires a regulated +5v supply, not sure exactly what the allowable fluctuation might be. I had it connected without the power supply with a 24 foot hdmi cable to my toshiba hd-a2 and it worked just fine, I could not see any difference when power was applied to it or not. My pj has not been finely focused and tuned in detail so that may be why I didn't see a difference. I tried hooking the fury to the dvd player with the short cable that came with it and using a long vga extension to the pj and it did not work well at all. I have two IFB-11's in my 1272 and will probably try to pull 5v from one of those.
