Hello eveyone, I am a current owner of a Sony KV-30HS420 and I was wondering how is stacks up against a Sony KV-34XBR910? I can get the XBR for $575 with a matching stand. Do you think it is worth it?

yes, the best 1080i picture of all time. Being a CRT it will last 15 years at least.

Actually, the 34XBR960 is the best. I do not need it to last 15 years, my 34XS955 is less than 3 years old and already needs a repair!

I have an 36xbr800 and the 910 you are looking at. The 910 with the SFP tube is noticeably higher in resolution than the 800, but the difference is not huge. The difference is in the details and in the overall slightly sharper image of the 910. I don't think you would be sorry if you picked it up, and you would have the satisfaction of knowing you can't get any better with the CRTs.

The anti glare coating started pelling off on my XBR960 after I owned it for only 25 months.

A correction on my KD-34XS955 needing a repair. It only needed to be plugged directly into the wall, and not how I plugged it into a power bar.
