when it comes to HDMI, I really don't know much. i got a marantz receiver and dvd player that both support HDMI, as well as my projector. i will be using these equidment for listening to music and watching movie. here's my question, instead of using digital audio cable like coax or optical and component cable from my dvd to receiver to projector. i can just simply buy two HDMI cable right? one go from my dvd player to receiver and then one from my receiver to projector?

That's correct. One HDMI from the DVD to receiver and another from the receiver to the projector.

HDMI carries a digital signal, so there is no picture quality or audio quality difference between cables. For short runs ~10 ft., almost any cable will work perfectly. If you need to use longer runs, you may want to buy a 1.3a certified cable to ensure there are no problems. At any rate, you can buy good cables from two forum sponsors.

I have both and they work perfectly in my setup. I do like the Blue Jeans cables better since they seem to be of higher build quality.
