No, this isn't 'Planet Earth', although it is related. The BBC are just releasing to cinemas in the UK a film called 'Earth'. While this draws on material used in Planet Earth 40% of the movie is new material not included in the TV series. The director of the movie was just on BBC Radio Five so I emailed the show and asked whether it would be released on Blu-Ray and HD DVD. His on air answer was a great big 'yes'! So lots more HD animal goodness is coming to both high def formats from the BBC! Oh, by the way the movie is narrated by Patrick Stewart of Star Trek fame.
