It seems like the bit rate is the main limiting factor of the current AVCHD camcorders? Ok that, and a decision by the manufacturers whether to dumb them down (i.e. SD5 with no accessory shoe or mike) or target the more advanced user.

But when could we expect to see the next cameras from Sony and Panasonic?
