View Full Version : When is Black Friday? Any deals on samsung DLPs?
Joey Cusack 11-14-07, 06:53 PM Plain and simple. I just would like to know is it like after thanksgiving or before? and is it JUST Friday or is it every day for a certain period of time after black Friday?
Also any news on samsung DLP sales?
Usually it's the day after Thanksgiving only. But some retailers this year are offering good deals each Friday leading up to Thanksgiving to get a jump on the others.
Last year it was just the Friday after Thanksgiving. How long they run sales this year will depend on how well their inventory is moving.
nelsona 11-14-07, 08:22 PM You can check out the sales here: http://www.blackfriday.info/
Joey Cusack 11-15-07, 01:49 AM Thanks. Appreciate that.
wsfanatic 11-15-07, 01:49 AM Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. It's called this by some retailers because this is the day that puts them in the black for the year.
Sears is the only one that has a Samsung, it looks like. BB has a Mits and CC has a Toshiba. If the Sears LED one was $500 cheaper, I'd consider that a BF "deal".

Yeah, so far it seems like a lot of the tv deals are "meh" at best.
I'm NOT going out on black Friday for a mediocre deal. It has to be that "WOW" deal thats almost too good to be true.
CC is going to have a 50" samsung slim dlp for $799.00.
CC currently has the HL-T6187S 61" for $1999.99 till the end of this week.
Then Sears will price match for another 10% off.
I guess I am going tonight to get one.
Joey Cusack 11-15-07, 10:14 AM So in other words ONLY the things they have sales on can be purchased cheap. I can't just go in Brandsmart on Black Friday and get a fantastic deal? It depends on whatever item they have the sale on?
That sucks because the 65" Mitsubishi 1080P DLP going for 1499.99. MAN I wish I could get that on a 61" sammy DLP.
temeone 11-15-07, 10:42 AM Retailers will put certain products on sale.. typically things which normally do not have very high demand, as these products will sell without a discount. Everything is dependent on the specific retailer, and you certainly cannot go into a store and expect everything to be on sale.
ronconnolly 11-15-07, 02:55 PM On BF, can you purchase an item on-line, then pick it up at the store for the same BF pricedeal?
travon802 11-15-07, 03:13 PM No, you cannot purchase online for in-store pickup on Black Friday. They consider it unfair for the people who wait in line while everyone else is eating turkey...
Caduceus 11-15-07, 03:38 PM Some stores will "price match". I.e. you buy it at a retailer and then on the day of the sale, you can get the price dropped to that amount. Kind of like the 30-day price guarantee.
Though that is interesting on the 10% match by Sears. I have been considering the 56" and the wife told me the 61" was in the ads.
Caduceus 11-15-07, 03:38 PM Oh. And the Black Friday ads are usually time limited (5 AM to 9 AM or something) but the Sears ad is Friday and Saturday.
FYI, just to be clear, the Sears matching-price policy is match the price and 10% of the difference off. So if CC had it for $2000 and Sears had it for $2300, the end Sears price would be $1970.

yeah i found that out when i was shopping for my tv. sears isnt the only place that means by 10 percent off its 10 percent of the difference..... trickery
Yep thats right. The price difference. The wife said $37 more off.
Although Im not real excited about Sears, they do off the 24 month 0 interest and BB dont.
temeone 11-15-07, 08:34 PM I have to think Sears isn't going to price match any BF prices. but I could be wrong.
Oh, I know. The thread was about BF's.
But Im going to ask Sears this Saturday to pm Circuit City.
AnthonyArena 11-15-07, 10:16 PM The deal on the 65 inch Mits at BB is a great deal.
COACH2369 11-15-07, 10:43 PM Is this TV pretty decent?? Any links to some reviews would be useful.. I am considering this and the 60" Sony kds60a3000...
