I've seen the owners thread on them, but the length is staggering. I gues I just need a little positive support before I buy. The price sure is right, and I've always really like the dila picture. I just wanna mak sure I'm making a good choice. Thanks for the help.

I have the 61 inch version of the tv and love it. We've had it for almost a year now. In fact, if BB still carried it, my parents would be buying it...they like it that much

Don't know about that. My 65S998 will be here on Tues. The 56FH97 is last year's model.

Walford: Your post is in line with rumors we have heard, but no one I have spoken to has heard of a formal announcement by JVC in this regard. Can you provide ANY details, links, etc?? Thanks,

Sorry I do not have a link. I believe it was a short article on one of the technical news sites pointing out that both JVC and Toshiba will be dropping rear projection units in 2008 and concentrating on flat panel TVs. I guess we will just have to wait til CES 2008 in January to find out for sure.

I have had my 56-FH97 for a little over a month now... calibrated with both GetGray and DVE (non-HD) and I love it. I can detect SSE, but it doesn't bother me.

For what I bought it for from buydig... it's a steal.

thanks guys, I think I'm gonna order it this weekend.

I ordered mine Friday, 15NOV07, from buydig, looks like it should be here 27NOV (not really sure I just got the shipping notice), just before my birthday.

I think what finally swayed me was:
a. buydig price
b. some of the posts by people who read the HT mag review of RPTV, LCD, Plasma (http://www.hometheatermag.com/hookmeup/1107hook2/) that mentions the static and motion res.

I was all set to go LCD again until I heard about the motion res drop-offs (the assumption being that the model listed in the article is the 56FC97)

and

c. For this sizes I was looking at in LCD, I get a much larger screen with the JVC and it weighs less or comparable to what I was looking at in terms of LCD.
