'The Brave One' Coming to HD DVD, Blu-ray
November 15, 2007

Warner Home Video has announced the revenge thriller 'The Brave One,' starring Jodie Foster, will released February 5 on Combo Format HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc. The high definition releases are day-and-date with the standard DVD debut.

Technical specs have yet to be released by the studio though we expect them to be available shortly. Both the HD DVD and Blu-ray versions will include a pair of special features: I Walk the City featurette, and seven minutes worth of alternate scenes.

The Brave One will carry an MSRP of $35.99 on Blu-ray Disc and Combo Format HD DVD. Click through the disc details below to view the high resolution cover art.

Interesting that the MSRP on both the Combo HD DVD and Blu-Ray release are identical. They lowered the standard Combo price and raised the BD new release price so they match. How do you like them apples? ;)

That's the critic meter, click on the users meter instead... I learned to stop paying attention to critics a long time ago on movies, the userbase overall gives a much better idea of how good a movie really was... IMO of course!

BTW, love that cover art, classy!!

I really liked this movie. Think of Death Wish with Jodie Foster instead of Charles Bronson, add in a layer of genuine thought and emotion and you've got yourself a great popcorn muncher.

Well WB screwed up their 3 week window delay for HD DVD again.

Not only is The Invasion available early, but my Frys also has The Brave One on HD DVD.

I was surprised as most people said The Invasion was only released early because stores already had them, but most people thought The Invasion would be the only one to slip by WB's 3 week window policy.

But nope, The Brave One slipped by as well.

I picked up The Invasion at BB last week. I went to 2 BBs yesterday and CC today but didn't see The Brave One or Assassination of Jessie James. Figured it was a one time screw up for The Invasion. Guess I'll have to checkout Fry's now.

Did anyone else's copy of the movie look like this (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1003492&highlight=the+brave+one)?

The older cases the logo was painted/screened. The newer cases have HD DVD logo etched in. In the right light you see the logo. I saw this on Assassination of Jesse James and Pan's Labyrinth. I didn't notice it on Brave one, though. I'll have to look when I get home tonight.

But this one lacks the white paint completely, and it's a new, sealed title, so there's no way it could have rubbed off...

People try to hawk these on e-bay as valuable errors.

Every copy I've seen in stores has the missing HD DVD paint/logo.
I think it's intentional.

Look at your cases again in the light, or open then and look on the inside. The new engraved logo can be really hard to see if it's dark.

Yeah, I watched it recently with the fiancee, and it was a sad but good movie.

This.
Movie.
Blew.

Looked and sounded fine, just didn't care for it. It had potential. It failed to live up to it.

For sale, cheap..

Yeah, went to BB yesterday and noticed all of their copies of this movie were like that. I don't think WB changed the logo on purpose for style, I think they just got cheap and skipped a step on how the cases are made. These cases just look generic.

Some people think it looks cleaner. To each his own. You can always buy replacement cases and swap it out if you want the old painted logo on it.
