I have a Sony 34HS420....about every 75 or 80 times I turn it on, no matter what input, the picture is REALLY screwed up. I can't describe it. I don't have a picture of it either. All you've got to do is turn it off for a few minutes and then it fixes itself.

Anyways. I'm going to replace it with a Sammy LCD.

None of the other TVs in the house need replaced with the Sony. I was just wondering what are the options to dispense of the INCREDIBLY HEAVY Sony.

I would suggest posting it on craigslist for your area.

Someone may well be interested in the set and able to repair.

Just sit it out near your trash cans and it will be gone in no time :)

I have the same problem - I'm replacing a "mint" condition Toshiba 36" HDTV ready CRT set with a new 42" LCD. The set weighs 203#, so I have a real problem trying to find help just to move it much less get rid of it.
