This is a strange dilemma that I can't seem to figure out. I recently picked up my new SR7002 and hooked up the following equipment to it:

-Denon DVD955 via HDMI
-Motorola (DVR) BMC9022D using a DVI-D/HDMI cable for the video, DigCoax for audio
Samsung DLP HL-S5687W via HDMI from the receiver

I ran the speaker setup, did the mic thing and everything was fine.

The problem is, no video. I have the DVR set to HDMI 1, and the DVD to HDMI 2, output is set to HDMI 1 to the TV.

I get sound from the TV, no video. I get sound from the DVD *only* when I'm in the setup menu.

After studying the manual, it seems like I have everything setup right, so I'm wondering if my TV has compatibility issues with the Marantz's HDMI output, which doesn't explain why I get sound from the DVD player only when I'm in the setup menu's.

Wanting to actually enjoy the beautiful new receiver, I hooked the HDMI cables directly into the TV the way I previously had with my old, non-HDMI receiver. Hooked the audio into the DigCoax and set the inputs using the receivers display, and finally could experience how awesome this receiver sounds. It's like night and day from my 5 year old Onkyo, the clarity and presence is amazing.

Any insights to my little HDMI issue's would be appreciated, Thanks!

I have a sneaking suspicion that's its an HDCP issue...grrrrrrr

I just got my 7002 4 days ago and have had zero issues, but I also had the 7001 prior.

You've probably checked most settings a hundred times now but go ahead and try this just for grins.

First try one device at a time.

You have an HDMI device try that device first and make sure that V-OFF is not on using the remote control. Verify using the remote and choosing amp then press the > button about 4 times until you see the V-OFF or on. Off is bad:)

Double check the HDMI output visually and verify that the inputs are set accordingly in the setup menu. This can be confusing, just think about this one device only.

Check your video convert settings in the setup menu.

Check your preferences and verify HDMI AUDIO is enable, which, I'm sure it is but have a look.

Some settings may have been changed from default if the unit was a display model or whatever. For all your devices to not function it looks more like a setup issue to me.

Best of Luck!
