Can I run digital audio (coax) on a standard 75 ohm coax cable? I don't know what I've got... I think RG6. It's about 25' long and was previously being used as an antenna feed. If I can just pop on a couple of F to RCA adaptors, then that would save me an INSANE amount of time trying to pull cable under the house! Fingers crossed!!! :)

Yep, should work fine.

Yep. Digital audio simply requires a 75ohm coax, just like video. Any 75ohm coax can be used for these tasks interchangeably, since they're the same stuff. An analog audio cable need not be 75ohm, so it may be something else. You shouldn't use an analog audio cable for digital audio or video unless you know that it is a 75ohm cables, since it may not be.

I found this on maximum length of mis-matched digital cable:

44.1 kHz = 5.6448 MHz= 44 ft.
48 kHz = 6.144 MHz = 40 ft.
96 kHz = 12.288 MHz = 20 ft.
192 kHz = 24.576 MHz = 10 ft.

Hope this helps set a limit!

Hmmm... dunno what to make of that. RG-6 cable frequently carries frequencies much higher than any of those over much longer distances afaik.

I'm running 96k over 48ft of cheap Rat Shack video cable that includes a RCA coupler between the two 24ft cables. Seems to work just fine - no dropouts, etc.

Because those are appropriate 75ohm cables. The list was for mismatched cables, which can still work okay, depending on length.

Ahhh... that makes sense now. Thanks.
