Trying to diagnose an issue with a Hitachi 61UWX10B CRT Rear Proj unit. Owned the unit since 2002 and its been working fairly well until recently I noticed it is considerably darker. Even when I go into the TVs control panel and increase the brightness to 100% it is still not as bright as it used to be.

Is there a bulb that I can replace or does this involve additional parts? Im fairly lost at this point. Any help is appreciated

It probably needs its optics cleaned. 5 years of collecting dust, dirt and what ever else those CRT highly magnetic guns draw in there. There is a thread in these forums called Don't dump your RPTV or something like that it, has a lot of info . Search for that thread ,there will be more help there.
