Basically I want to hook up a set of Bose Virtually Invisible In-Wall Speakers to a Vizio L32HDTV I bought from Sam's Club. I'm thinking I couldn't just hook the speakers up to the TV and expect it to sound nice. I need to hook the TV up to an audio receiver and connect the speakers to the receiver. Assuming my assumption is correct, could I get a DVD player instead of an audio receiver and basically use that as the audio receiver?

I'm kind of new to all of this, so I apologize ahead of time if this is a stupid question. But as they say, there's no such thing as a stupid question ... only stupid people.

Thanks!

It may be possible, but not realistic since there would really be no amplification of the signal. There would not likely be enough current to drive the magnets in the speakers. About the only I could even remotely think you could do it was if you were able to rig the speaker wires where it could be plugged into a headphone jack. However, most headphone amps are around 5 watts or so. Given the resitance of the speaker cable combined with the low voltage, current will not likely be enough to drive the magnets with any significant dynamic range.
