The projector of a my friend show error message after startup.

Before warmup process appear failure short circuit on i2c bus for few seconds.

Then show warmup screen with large vertical black strip :eek:

I think many of the chips that use that bus can be found in the convergence tray above/below the lenses. If you have spare bds you can try swapping out either the convergence driver and/or the convergence gain brds...

Or alternatively you can open that tray and try plugging/unplugging all connectors to make sure everything is seated properly. Careful though because many of the plugs are the same size and it's easy to get confused. Mark them with a marker if they aren't already color coded...

But my friend has tried to turn on the projector without the convergence tray!!!!

The error appears the same :(

I'll back Curt up on this, pull the convergence tray and see if the problem goes away. If not, then the problem can be on any board that the I2R buss runs to. In that case I'd start swapping boards, or send me a bunch of them and I'll test them in a working set here.
