Hello,
I was trying to figure out how I could watch my HD cable on my Laptop. My Pace HD DVR box has alot of component outputs and I assumed I could simply stream to my Macbook. However, when I called Mediacom they informed me that they DISABLE all of the video outputs including the firewire,USB,SATA and component out ports on the box!!! My question to the community is- Is this practice legal? I understood that the company must give the customer a working Firewire port and way to output content. Funny thing is I understand they don't want people to pirate content and output it to the internet. But, I simply want to watch the stream on my computer while I'm playing video games on my HDTV without having to buy another device. Anyone know if this is the case or if anyone with one of these boxes can verify if they are really disabled??
