Mine has many hours and nearly a year of use on it thusfar and just recently a tech was dispatched to replace the "X" board because on 480i/480p sources I would sometimes get a weird line one row of pixels thick at the very bottom and I had to turn the set off and back on to eliminate it.

However, it has that "pinkish/redish hue" bands vertically (pretty wide on the left side of the panel and right side), but just to the right of center there's a thin vertical band (2") that looks right so any time there's a solid color on the screen you can quickly see the "off" areas to the left and right, i've seen this described in other threads for these sets and the guy that came to replace the X board says "they all do it"

how do i proceed?

That model number must be an old number. Have you spoken to Samsung?

It's a 2006 model, built January 2007

So have you made arrnagements with samsung to fix it? You are still under warranty.

Read the original post, tech came dispatched by samsung... they replaced the "X" board and me "all of the sets" do the pink/red banding thing against solid colors, however i've read stories in the 4253/5053 thread about it being resolved.
