Im new to the HD world and 16:9. Currently I have the tv(LNT4661F) connected to a Sony DVP-NS715P via component cables. The picture size is set on 16:9 on the TV and the DVD player is configured for a 16:9 set with progressive on.
I get black bars on the top and bottom of the video feed just like if u were to watch 16:9 material on a 4:3 set. Are there any settings I am overlooking?

This is normal; many movies are shot with an aspect ratio even wider than 16:9.
Read up for further info and fixes for "undesired letterboxing" at the bottom of this link: http://www.cnet.com/4520-7874_1-5140690-4.html
