I just had my NEC 61mp1 stop working and I was wondering what to do about it.

In all likelyhood I may buy a new Samsung FPT6374 plasma, but I'm not sure I see just tossing the NEC in the trash. If it's something like a power supply I could see fixing it and just selling it cheap, or using it as a gaming display.

What do you guys do when a 6 year old Plasma dies on you? I'm not really sure who to contact about this? NEC? Are there any repair shops you'd call in the Dallas area?

Its scrap iron. Not worth fixing. The market value is less than $300. I would buy a new panel.

It's not junk if he just wants to fix it for his own use, as long as it's not too expensive to fix. Obviously don't sink enough to buy a new 50 incher or anything. BTW, what year is the 61mp1? If it's just a power supply, it's definitely worth fixing.

Its 6 years old. Also keep in mind, the performance may not resemble today's flat panels. These were the early adopter flat panels.

how much was it when you first bought it? also how do the specs compare to some cheaper plasma/lcd products that are on the market today? it's probably just better to pick up another tv.
