View Full Version : Anyone know what the slot/groove mount on my panamorph is called?

My panamorph mount has a very simple, low-tech mounting system. A bar is attached to the ceiling, which has angled sides, in profile. A matching slot is in the base of the panamorph mount which slides over the bar, having a matching angled profile.

I would love to pick one of these up, or something similar, for my DIY lens. Anyone have any idea what they are called so I can do a proper search? I have only been able to find "t-slot" mounts, which are similar, but not quite the same.

I was hoping to rig up something similar to what Panamorph has without taking too much trouble, and I ended up making a rudimentary t-track and elevator bolts to make a track for my lens. The idea was to make it removable when not in use, but secure enough that I don't have to worry about it falling on me while I am watching movies. What I have works, but is not ideal.
