OK, Ive seen comments pro & con on upconverting DVD players.

I have a Mitsubishi 46" 1080P and an old DVD player using component connections.

I sometimes view picture DVDs using the DVD player.

If I upgrade to an upconverting DVD player, I understand that I may see some improvement of DVD movies, but what about DVD jpg"s? If the DVD player is connected to the TV via HDMI, will I see 1080P quality pictures? Or will I see the same resolution I see now? (480i? or ??)

I'm looking at Sony DVP-NS77HB or Panasonic DVD-S53.
