Hi everyone,

Hey does anyone know if you can edit the info in the edid chips on the moome dvi cards?( mine is xg internal dvi).

The reason being that I use a HTPC with a 8800 series video card wich their is no overscan support(or very little wich is poor at best).

I;m thinking that If i could rewrite the edid chip, by some means I could put the overscan info in their for the modes I want.

standard resolutions are fine at the moment (although I'd like the H size bigger),but non standard resoslutions like 1920X810 the image is too wide, causing streaking and overlaps on the sides, If I could add 1920X810 to edid with correct overscans etc it would be spot on, also edit the stock sizes and make them wider with timmings info.

Any Ideas or thoughts on how to acheive this?. or pointers on where to start?

Thanks
Ryan

I've asked the same question before even directly to moome. I was left in the dark.

Bomrat has software that supposedly will allow you to do it with an Nvidia card, but I'm to afraid to mess with my one and only moome card that drives the stack..........

The good thing is if you have good soldering skills, he will send you an updated EDID if your card needs it.
