I've beening running the Break-in DVD on my Yahama DV-C6760, over S-video, for the last few days. Running it most of the time with a few hours break here and there.

I never had the receiver on, or tuned it to the DVD player for sound.

Now here I am wanting to watch my first movie on it(which btw, even with S-video and non progressive looks pretty good on my Samsung 4253) and no sound will come out.

It's not the cable, I switched and tested with another device that worked. Also there is a red light coming from the cable so a signal is being sent.

It's not the receiver(Yahama HTR-5460) input, tested that.

That DVD players settings haven't change, and it shows Multichannel output.

The receiver doesn't seem to be receiving a consistent signal as it keeps popping up PCM on and off.

My xbox 360 plays DVDs fine(Sides from Video Hardware failing occasionally)

Any ideas?

That's what you get for using a "break" in DVD. :D Sorry, couldn't resist.

Update: It can play sound through stereo cables, and coaxial digital audio.

Just the Optical output, fried even though it's sending a signal?

Break In !!
This is a joke right?
There will be no audio or video difference at all with the so called breaking in period, and leaving equipment on unattended is not very smart...

It's probably the optical cable.

I dont know the particular player but is it possible you have the audio set to multichannel out instead of digital out?
