I could have sworn How You Remind Me was already on Rock Band. But I could have also sworn they said music games sucked and wouldn't ever be in them either.

I never could get into them but I hear Jerry Sandusky is a real big fan.

Every RB3 disc song has pro g/b charts. One song, "Imagine", only has pro bass.
edit: oh, i see what you are saying. TAoRDM was released recently without pro, good catch."By the Way" was in that "I'm With the Chili Peppers" pack as well.

I think that you're right, NoThru22--this probably is the first time they've issued a pro upgrade for post-RB3 DLC after it was released. I'm sure there's lots of chatter about that on the RB forums . Nice to see that it's something that they might do.

I know, I guess I thought their mega-big single was in that 6 pack. I actually thought they had 2 packs by now.

I was checking out the "Setlist Checklist" feature on RockBandAide, and goddamn that "Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s" PS2 exclusive has a kick-ass soundtrack.

It really sucked they didn't put that out for 360 after give us a taste of the genre with GH2.

Most of the songs were covers back then, so I'm sure the licensing was a lot easier. I don't know exactly how it works, but they probably only had to license the song from the copyright holder for a cover versus copyright, performers, and performance label/studio for a "master track".

Correct, you only need to license from the publisher, not from the artist (which are not always the same.) In fact, you can't even copyright a style! Take for a example, the version of Train Kept a Rollin in Rock Band 1: Tiny Bradshaw and a few others wrote that song in 1951 and Aerosmith licensed the rights and did a cover of it in 1974. Aerosmith never wanted to be in the game Rock Band, so Harmonix only had to license the rights from Tiny Bradshaw (or whoever currently owns the rights) and then they could have the cover band do it in the style of Aerosmith and Steven Tyler without paying them a dime. That kind of blows my mind a little.

I'm hosting a Rock Band 3 Endless Setlist party this Saturday... just wondered if doing the 'all instruments mode' for the setlist makes it a permanent 'music video' background with the '5-4-3-2-1' countdown and crazy effects for every song. If so, I'm thinking of dropping a bass player so we can just get a normal concert background.

Has anyone done the Endless with all 7 playing? I know the game lets you see the stats between each song now; can instruments also drop in-and-out as the setlist goes on? I guess I can tinker with it when I'm back home Saturday, but was hoping some AVS folks could drop some knowledge earlier than that.

Yeah I might cherry pick but even then I'll be getting five or so songs. Before I'd always get packs just to get the extra song or two at a discount, but at over 1,500 songs, perhaps I'm regretting that philosophy.

Not being an omnivorous Queen fan--love the big radio hits--I'm not in for the whole pack. I'll take "You're My Best Friend", "The Show Must Go On", "Radio Ga Ga" (one I'm most looking forward to) and "Bicycle Race". None of the others ever impressed me before and still don't upon listening to them just now, but I might get "Long Away".

All I'm missing now is "A Kind of Magic" and "These Are the Days of Our Lives" :).

I'm all in for the new Queen pack. All the songs are good.

One thing that concerns me now though is that pretty much all of Queen's big hits are now on the RB roster. So, I hope this won't be the last release because there are still some tracks we need

I'm also working on Johnny Cash's "Walk the Line" and "Tennessee Flat Top Box" pro-bass. The charts are easy enough that I can play on expert, so that is fun.

ileff, are you playing with the Mustang or the Squier?

I cancelled my BB Squier pre-order and don't think I can get one at this point. I have the Mustang and haven't used RB since Rocksmith came out, but am thinking of using the Mustang to do some Pro Bass during the vacation if I can pull myself away from MW3. Any thoughts on using the Mustang?

ileff
12-19-11, 10:41 AM
I have the Squier but I play RB3 with the Mustang 90% of the time. Mainly because its light and easy on the fingers.

One fun thing about the Squier is to plug it into an amp and you get somewhat of a Rocksmith experience.

I made it all the way through the Pro-Guitar medium career, but I kind of hit a wall when I tried to switch to hard. Going Pro-Bass for a while has really made the game more fun and now I'm probably ready to give Pro-Guitar hard another try.

Went to download Jimi Hendrix this morning and I saw that they are finally offering Rock Band 3 as a Game on Demand! I happily paid the $20 so that I never have to swap discs to play Rock Band 3 again. I've been up Harmonix's butt to offer this and I didn't think they actually would!

Also, Bush in Rock Band! I love their songs but I am betting that the drums will be boring. Hall & Oates and more Huey Lewis confirmed as well. http://www.rockbandaide.com/14753/harmonix-livestream-reveals-three-artists-coming-to-dlc/

The Game-on-Demand news is too frickin' cool. I've been trying to free myself from discs of all kinds, mostly waiting to play titles until they're available that way. Just a shot in the dark here, but has anyone used a Simmons SD7PK edrum kit with their MIDI Pro adaptor? From what I understand, the Simmons kits are a bit limited for this, as they use 'voices' instead of 'midi notes' to id their sounds. Still, I can't get any of the 300 voices on this kit to register as any pad in RB 3. I figured with its MIDI out port, something would register a hit, but no luck at all so far. Any ideas are appreciated.

Ok, I got it to work, somewhat. I was using just the pad buttons on the module, instead of the whole kit. Got some energy and connected it all up, and got some interesting results. Something is amiss though, as right now the whole kit is reversed! I'll have to get back to it later. But at least it works, and it appears that the Simmons 'voice' numbers have no effect on the MIDI output notes. I'll have to figure out the relationship between lefty mode in the game and the MIDI output of this kit. I'm thinking lefty mode should be off since my kit is actually positioned that way, but I didn't think of that until it was too late.

Ya know, I really dislike playing the Squier with the mute up. I just don't get a feel for the string I'm strumming and I get lost with my pick hand. It doesn't quite make sense to me, but I track so much better (not that I'm good) with the strings as they're meant to be.

I guess I need to figure out how adjust those pots so it registers better. I set the intonation on the thing yesterday and that went pretty well, so I'll give it a shot.

There are people that are paying over $100 for the wireless drums with cymbals these days, but you have to find them.

I guess I need to figure out how adjust those pots so it registers better. I set the intonation on the thing yesterday and that went pretty well, so I'll give it a shot.I doubt that the pots can be adjusted to eliminate the overstrums which register when the mute is off. You'd need some kind of minimum note duration setting. The game is registering a strum for every strong enough vibration of the string. I suppose if you desensitized the strings and alway strummed and picked HARD that might work.

If you purchase the 3-pack, similar to the Abbey Road Beatles DLC, you will also receive one 20-minute marathon medley of all seven parts of the suite, exclusively available in this special pack. And that’s not it! You ALSO will receive the Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades for all three packages, as well as a Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade for the medley for free!

Wow that was epic! Only slight issue is some huge gaps for pro-bass but still so awesome.

Huge gaps for pro drums (and vocals) as well, but really awesome. I'll probably just 2 star the whole track and rate the individual pieces higher so that it doesn't come up in randoms.

I've seen the sites where they sell the hacked accounts and points. The sellers say that you need to log in to the account and use the points within two hours because that is all that they will warrant them for. They say you need to "transfer the points to your account" which I don't think is really possible. What people are really doing is buying the content with your account on their console which then ties it to their console. They can then use the content with their own tags and it doesn't matter if your hacked tag gets shut down.

Funny, remember when I said that there are long stretches with no drums on 2112? Apparently, it's long enough between notes that, on the PS3, the drums will auto shut off if you don't press the d-pad or select button in between.

my top 2 probabilities are "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" or "She's Not There"The 5-lane guitar and bass charts for "She's Not There" are tons of fun. The guitar only comes in during the chorus and bridge (absent from the beginning to the 1st chorus and between the 1st and 2nd chorus, but continuous after that), but it's a fun sequence of single notes and shifting chords. You can see the guitar chart here:

[center]oazjFPkblyU[center]I love the Zombies and also bought "Tell Her No". I wish that they'd add "Time of the Season". It'd also be nice if they'd introduce RB3 versions of the other two with keys charts; the piano and organ in these songs are excellent.

"Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" looked like a snore so I didn't buy it.

The musician/artist used motion capture while playing a drum solo, then digitized just the captured 3-D arm movements in real time while playing the piece.

I thought the result was pretty nifty and might appeal to other drummers out there.

Lame (though I'll probably buy the pack). There was a big pack of CCR last year. Nice to have "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?" and "Suzie Q" (I'd never heard "Lodi" before--listening to it now and it seems pretty bland). Still, they need to give us bands that aren't in the library.

2112 full-suite twenty minutes of devil-head drums is pretty tough! I had bust back to medium to get through it, which was disappointing. I think I'll be able to master "hard" with some practice, though.

It's an interesting mix, what with the "re-tune the guitar" break in there. Do guitarists get to play that sequence? That would actually be amusing is so. There is a long-arse break that made me pine for the shortness of the "Won't Get Fooledd Again" break from RB1. But the chart was bouncy and fun and I can't wait to work on it enough to be able to get through on hard.

Riding on the popularity of the early-'90s “alternative” movement, London rockers Bush found worldwide success with their strong 1994 debut, Sixteen Stone. The album produced five hit singles for the band, three of which – “Everything Zen,” “Comedown,” and “Machinehead” – will be available in the Rock Band Music Store as “Bush Pack 01” on February 7th!

Whole album is pretty good. I like "Alien" a lot. Not sure about being Jock rock, but Bush was great at IU's Assembly Hall when they toured on this album back in the day.

I have always liked the erratic, semi-connected poetry-type lyrics on this album.... different.

Reading the RockBand.com forum thread on this it surprises me how many speculated songs are things that I've never heard. Someone there pointed out this (http://myrockbandsongs.com/unreleased-songs/) list at myrockbandsongs.com, arranged in order of popularity ("Never Gonna Give You Up" is #39 on that list, but you have to go pretty far down to get to any song that's appropriate for Valentine's Day). Can't wait until the Friday morning reveal.

RockBandAide.com posted a poll (http://www.rockbandaide.com/15231/rock-band-most-requested-song-coming-next-week/) of a short list of songs and their readership thinks that it will be "Knights of Cydonia" by Muse. I have to hope that they're wrong.

Of course it's that song! Don't be silly. :)

It's a good way to keep things in perspective. We're into Rockband, we're serious about it, and we assume the world shares our views. In reality we are a tiny niche group of enthusiasts who are easily rolled over by a two year old meme. And there's nothing wrong with that!

DLC Week of 2/21 - Megadeth 3 Pack! Symphony of Destruction w/ Pro & more!
Hey gang,

For close to 30 years thrash metal pioneers Megadeth have wowed listeners with their brutal yet melodic sound, recording a number of platinum records and selling out arenas worldwide. On February 21st, “Megadeth Pack 01” brings three of the band’s tracks to the Rock Band Music Store.

1992’s Countdown to Extinction was an instant hit, debuting at #2 on the Billboard charts, thanks in part to the strong single “Symphony of Destruction,” the first track in this three pack of headbangers. The second track in the pack is “À Tout le Monde,” from Megadeth’s sixth studio album, 1994’s Youthanasia. This collection is rounded out by “Public Enemy No. 1” from the band’s latest record, 2011’s TH1RT3EN.

"This is an awesome game and fans get to play a cross-section of our best songs ever," said Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine. "I am going to have to learn my songs all over again!"

These three tracks add to an ever-growing library of Megadeth’s music that's playable in Rock Band; their classic records Peace Sells… but Who’s Buying? and Rust in Peace are also available for download in their entirety on the Rock Band Music Store. The band is currently touring North America, headlining the traveling festival Gigantour alongside Motörhead, Volbeat, and Lacuna Coil.

Available on Xbox 360, Wii™ and PlayStation®3 system (February 21st, 2012):

• Megadeth - "Symphony of Destruction" X

2 out of three already available in Rocksmith, including the one with pro guitar charts.

I wonder how close they are chart wise. If you learn it in one you should be able to play it in the other, right?

Rock Band is mostly rhythm guitar that sometimes switches to lead and Rocksmith is 100% lead. Rock Band has always done that switch to make charts more interesting (though less so in pro mode for consistency, I was led to believe.)

With nearly 20 top-ten singles under their belt, San Francisco-based rock & rollers Huey Lewis and the News’ remarkable career has spanned more than 30 years. The band made their Rock Band debut with “The Power of Love” on the Rock Band 3 disc, and now three more of the group’s hits are headed to the Music Store on February 28th.

“Do You Believe in Love,” from 1982’s Picture This, and the band’s first top ten hit, kicks off the three pack. “The Heart of Rock & Roll” and “I Want a New Drug” – both from their platinum-selling third record, 1983’s Sports – round out this collection of chart-topping hits. All songs will feature support for keyboards, with a Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade available for “I Want a New Drug.”

Available on Xbox 360, Wii™ and PlayStation®3 system (February 28th, 2012):

* Huey Lewis and the News – “Do You Believe in Love” O

I've started getting a disc read error on my RB3 disc. Can't find it on sale for $19 anymore. Friends tell me you can download it for $19 but I guess because I have it installed to my hard drive it doesn't give me the option to buy it in the market place. Has anyone downloaded it? Do I need to uninstall the game from my hard drive before it gives me the option to download the game for $19? Don't want to have to download 500 songs again. Any suggestions?:confused:

Edit... Once I uninstalled the game the option to download it came up....all is good now

Maybe not the Everclear if it's too boring.Of the three bands, I'm only familiar with (and a fan of) Everclear; I don't know that song but it sounds typical of their work (EDIT: it's from their first album--I got on the bus with their second, So Much for the Afterglow). Good Charlotte's "Girls & Boys" was on-disc in Lego and I like that so I'll give that song some consideration. The band name Mastadon has hugely negative connotations for me--it smacks of metal, nearly all types of which I detest, though I've liked the occasional song. I try to listen to at least a few seconds of every new song before rejecting it :D.

If you look at the list of XBL Marketplace Games on Demand sorted by "Best selling all-time" (here (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Games/GamesOnDemand?sortby=BestSelling)) Rock Band 3 comes up as #2 in the list, behind the freeby Rock Band Music Store, followed by Halo 3 and Halo Reach. It's only been available for 2.5 months, versus Halo 3's nearly 2 years.

I only noticed this because I brought up the list to sort it by release date, to see what had been offered most recently. The default sort was "Best selling today" and RB3 was 2nd on the list behind Madden NFL 12 so I thought I'd see where it stood all-time. If this isn't some kind of mistake, color me surprised :D.

I created a thread for this topic at RockBand.com, here (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=228200), but I thought I'd mention it here for those who don't participate there.

DLC Week of 3/20 - Men at Work (Down Under & Overkill) and Santana (Smooth)!

Hey gang,

With their catchy hooks and off-beat sense of humor, Australia’s Men at Work became a huge success in the ‘80s. One of their best known tracks, “Down Under” – the second single from 1981’s Business as Usual – became a number one hit on the U.S. Billboard charts in the year of its release. The Aussie band found similar success with 1983’s album Cargo, and their second single off the record, “Overkill.” Both tracks come to the Rock Band Music Store on March 20th.

Finding his first success in the late ‘60s, guitarist Carlos Santana is nothing short of a legend. His band Santana returned to mainstream success in 1999 with their album, Supernatural, thanks in no small part to the hit single “Smooth.” A collaboration with Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas, the single rocketed to the top of worldwide charts and won three Grammy Awards, including one for “Song of the Year.” This certified platinum single comes to Rock Band next week, with an optional Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade.

Available on Xbox 360, Wii™ and PlayStation®3 system (March 20th, 2012):

* Men at Work – “Down Under” O
* Men at Work – “Overkill” O
* Santana – “Smooth” O X

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system March 21st)

Tracks marked with “O” feature support for keyboards; tracks marked with “X” will offer Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

Hey guys...

I've been searching all over (i must suck at using the AVS thread search) and I cannot find a decent reference to what the best microphone for RB3 is.

What's the best choice? I remember the one that ships with Lips was recommended. Is this still the case? Wireless would be cool but I just want a 'no fuss, no muss' microphone that I can get on Amazon. Just got into playing this again and need a microphone cuz the one that plugs into the standard 360 controller doesn't seem to get recognized in RB3. Works fine in RB2 though but I want to play RB3.

Thanks. :)

EDIT: Ah. Apparently after RB2 the mic had to be USB. Mmmmkay. I'll try out that <$20 Logitech one unless anyone has a better recommendation.

I don't think anyone ever recommended the Lips mic unless you needed it to be wireless. I've found them to be good mics for harmonies or casual play but they're not very accurate. Any used mic you can find at Gamestop would be good. I got one for High School Musical that is the same as the mic that came with Rock Band, just with different branding.

After my original RB1 mic died from a combo of singing spittle and tambourine whacks, I cut the cord near the in-line dongle, soldered on a 1/4" socket, and picked up a Shure PG-48-QTR for about $40. I also put a cheap foam windscreen on it to protect it from the moisture.

I couldn't be happier, and the mod of cutting the cable and putting on the socket couldn't have been easier.

So if you have an old RB mic laying around that is messed up, this is worth giving a try as the PG48 seems like it will outlast 10 cheapie mics.

I'll be in for two or all:

Hey gang,

Known for their catchy melodies and hard rocking riffs, Florida-based band Shinedown first hit the scene in early-2000s. In 2008, the band’s popularity grew with their successful third album, The Sound of Madness, which produced a string of hit singles. Two of these tracks, “Second Chance” and “The Crow and the Butterfly,” will come to the Rock Band Music Store on Tuesday, March 27th!

Shinedown’s long-awaited fourth studio album, Amaryllis, hits shelves on March 27th. “Bully,” the first single off of the record, has already made its mark on the Billboard charts, and hits the Music Store as part of the “Sounds of Shinedown Pack.”

An optional Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade for “Second Chance,” the band’s most successful single to date, will also be available.

Available on Xbox 360, Wii™ and PlayStation®3 system (March 27th, 2012):

• Shinedown – “Second Chance” O X
• Shinedown – “The Crow and the Butterfly” O
• Shinedown – “Bully” O

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system March 28th)

("Bully" will be delayed on PS3 in the US and should be available on 4/10. This should not affect the availability of the Shinedown pack on the PS3.)

Tracks marked with “O” feature support for keyboards; tracks marked with “X” will offer Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

Price:

$5.49, £2.49 UK, €3.99 EU (440 Microsoft Points, 550 Wii Points™) for “Sounds of Shinedown Pack”
$1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points, 200 Wii Points™) per song
$0.99 USD (100 Wii Points™/80 Microsoft Points), £0.59 UK, €0.79 EU per song for eligible Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade

* Denotes Pro-Guitar/Bass chart availability for $.99.

Holy poopbuckets! It looks like DLC for Rock Band on PS3 in Europe or Wii in the US and Europe until Harmonix works out new deals with them! That means no DLC from 4/4 until maybe summertime!
Temporary Interruption in DLC Service for SCEE, NOA & NOE Starting 4/3

Hey gang,

Starting April 3rd there will be a temporary interruption in DLC service for SCEE (Sony Europe), NOA (Nintendo in America) and NOE (Nintendo in Europe). This downtime is a direct result of mandatory changes being made to our DLC publishing arrangements.

What does this mean for PS3 and Wii users in the affected territories?

• Starting 4/3 there will be a temporary interruption of new DLC releases (including RBN)
• The existing catalog of previous RB DLC releases should remain available as usual
• Export for all eligible RB titles should be unaffected
• Our hope is to resume regular DLC service by this summer

We know that this isn’t ideal news for those of you still picking up new DLC every week, but you can trust that this short down time is necessary to ensure the continued release of DLC and the continued availability of the thousands of songs in the back catalog. There is no precedent for managing a library of content this size, and no standard for making changes on this scale but we are working hard to ensure that the process is as quick and as smooth as possible.

We’ll refresh this post with updates and responses to FAQs in the coming weeks, so please keep posted for more info. Thanks a lot for your patience and understanding.

I love pretty much all of the Evanescence songs on pro drums, though I wish we were getting an RB3 version of Going Under instead of Lithium. The other two have me exciting, even though I don't know them.
Hey gang,

On April 3rd, “Evanescence Pack 02” will hit the Music Store, bringing three tracks from the popular Grammy-winning rock group to Rock Band!

“Everybody’s Fool,” the fourth single off of the band’s 2003 debut Fallen, leads off the three pack. It’s followed by the emotional “Lithium,” the second single from the band’s 2006 studio album, The Open Door. “What You Want,” the hard-driving opening track from Evanescence’s 2011 self-titled third studio album, rounds out the pack.

These three tracks add to the growing library of songs available on the Rock Band Music Store, with new content being added weekly. “Evanescence Pack 01” is also available, featuring the band’s hits “Bring Me to Life,” “Call Me When You’re Sober,” and “Weight of the World”; “Going Under” is also available via the Rock Band Network.

Available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 system (April 3rd, 2012):

* Evanescence – “Everybody’s Fool” OX
* Evanescence – “Lithium” O
* Evanescence – “What You Want” O

Tracks marked with “O” feature support for keyboards; tracks marked with “X” will offer Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

I guess it will be fine as a track pack with a bonus game.

25 songs for probably $15, I'll bite. It looks like a dumbed down Rock Band Unplugged, which I guess I'm all right with. Pretty cool that it's already compatible with existing and future DLC, but I don't really see the longevity in it.

The first five songs:
Blink 182 – Always
Foster the People – Pumped Up Kicks
Great White – Once Bitten, Twice Shy
Quiet Riot – Metal Health
Rick Springfield – Jessie’s Girl

Think of it this way: fully compatible with all RB DLC, Blitz provides an avenue for non-RockBand players to start buying DLC. The more RB compatible DLC that is sold, the more DLC HMX will continue to make. That is an absolute good thing.

It somehow surprises you that it can deal with an RBN song? AFAIK, they're just RB song files, largely indistinguishable from any other of the type (pre- or post- RB3 format).

I don't know. Now the game is starting to look like it might be a little bit fun :).

Some people in the RB forum have been saying that the existence of Audiosurf, which can be used with any MP3 or iTunes song, makes it less attractive, but isn't Audiosurf a PC-only game at this point?

on why only 2 gems (theverge.com)

"But I think a more fundamental reason is that the choice was to let you focus a measure or two down the track as you play through and let you strategize about what your'e doing to do. And we found that if we took a little mental load off the beat matching and made it just a little bit easier to comprehend, you had the mental space to think about the strategy of what you're going to do to maximize your score."

I've been watching a live feed with HMX staffers playing the game and chatting about it. They announced next week's DLC, which will be a Slayer 3-Pack, containing "Raining Blood" (w pro g/b), "Seasons in the Abyss" and "South of Heaven". (They played "Raining Blood" in Blitz a few times in competition with each other). Not being a thrash metal fan it's a week for me to rest my wallet.

They're not just RB song files, they are their own type of song file and needed to be coded specifically into the game. The coding was probably easy, but add the fact that they are technically unrated and I would not have been surprised if they were not supported in the game.

Haven't played in quite some time, but Slayer is tempting me.

Really need to figure out how to get my stage mic working reliably without a bunch of diy hacking. I bought a XLR to USB cable that was supposed to work but it didn't.

I hacked up my original RB1 mic pretty easily. You need the kind with the in-line box near the console end, not the aftermarket rockband mics with a straight cable. You also need a 600 ohm dynamic mic for best results. I bought a PG-48 that came with an XLR to 1/4" cable.

If you're interested I can give you more details. It was a pretty quick two wire solder job that didn't require much precision at all.

I use an EV N/D767a I don't know if it is 600ohm but it is dynamic and slightly hotter than a SM58 at equal levels. I find I get the best results with my RB1 mic so I am not sure I want to hack it up, are there any games that come with the same mic packed in in the bargain bin these days that I could butcher? My wife would love one of those Glee games or something similar I'm sure.

Vid! The last two songs look interesting on drums as long as there as no super freakouts like the first song. I'm sure there are, though:

Hey gang,

Known for her powerful voice and edgy style, P!nk has had no problem dominating the charts worldwide with her infectious pop-rock sounds. Four of the singer/songwriter’s biggest hits are headed to the Rock Band Music Store on April 17th as “P!nk Pack 01”!

“Get the Party Started,” from 2001’s Missundaztood, leads off the pack; a Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade will be available for this chart-topping hit. Three tracks from 2008’s Grammy-nominated Funhouse round out the pack: “Sober,” “Please Don’t Leave Me,” and the album’s fifth single and title track, “Funhouse.”

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation®3 system (April 17th, 2012):

• P!nk – “Get the Party Started” O X
• P!nk – “Sober” O
• P!nk – “Please Don’t Leave Me” O
• P!nk – “Funhouse” O

Tracks marked with “O” feature support for keyboards; tracks marked with “X” will offer Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

Hopefully it will be like the gaga songs, where I didn't think they would be cool but they ended up being fun to play. :)

Hopefully it will be like the gaga songs, where I didn't think they would be cool but they ended up being fun to play. :)I'm not highly familiar with her work, but I like "So What" from Lego. I'll give them a listen and see if any of them interest me.

EDIT: I just listened to the songs and they're not bad, with the exception of "Get the Party Started", which is a monotonous snore, despite its upbeat title. I really wish that they'd have produced pro g/b charts for "Sober" instead; it's guitar part is pretty cool.

Get The Party Started was an infinitely bigger hit than the other three songs. I've never even heard the other three songs.

I'll probably pass on this week's DLC as well. I cut my teeth in this game playing "That's What You Get" (and other tier-0 RB2 songs), but I've never taken a shine to "Misery Business". Second week in the row with nothing to buy; oh well, it's not as if I don't have 700-some other tracks to play (and the Beatles if I feel able to withstand the beautiful-but-eye-searing graphics and energetic enough to go swap out the discs :D).

EDIT: Having just listened to the songs, I think I might buy "The Only Exception"--it's pretty.

DLC Week of 5/22 - Iron Maiden Epics 6 Pack!

Hey gang,

Unquestionably one of the most influential forces in heavy metal, Iron Maiden spearheaded metal in the early eighties and continue to define the genre. With over 85 million album sales, more than 2,000 live performances worldwide, and 15 studio albums to date, Iron Maiden are one of the hardest rocking and hardest working bands in rock.

On May 22nd, the six song pack “Maiden Epics” comes to the Rock Band Music Store. "Maiden Epics" represents a selection of Iron Maiden's most powerful and epic tracks from their albums recorded during the 1980s and thus ties in with their 2012 “Maiden England” Tour, the set list for which will be almost exclusively filled with classics from that remarkable decade.

Tracks in the “Maiden Epics” pack include: “Phantom of the Opera” from the band’s 1980 self-titled debut studio record; “The Prisoner” from 1982’s Number of the Beast; “The Flight of Icarus” from 1983’s Piece of Mind; the 13-minute epic “Rime of the Ancient Mariner” from 1984’s Powerslave; and “Infinite Dreams” and “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son,” from 1988’s Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.

This June, Iron Maiden will embark on an extensive "Maiden England" North American tour starting in Charlotte, NC on June 21st and finishing up in Houston, TX on August 18th. For more information, head to http://www.ironmaiden.com/tourdates.php.

So I can make a playlist of the RHCP album and make it longer than Iron Maiden or 2112, but that doesn't make it the longest song in RB. 2112 is the longest song, period.
