I have this model receiver from onkyo, a TX-LR552:

Click photo gallery, rear view. See that 75 ohm coax input in the upper left part of the picture? I used to have a white coax elbow coming out of that that just led to a single white wire (18 gauge?) that I taped to the edge of my window frame. Invisible and perfect. However, I wasn't around when the movers packed up my house. I believe that they left that wire behind. Now that the wire I need is about 2000 miles away, any idea what I need to replace it? I tried sticking a length of coax on there, and I got nothing.

Thanks,
- Jeff

Just stick a piece of plain wire in there...

If you want to get a bit fancier, get a basic twin-lead style folded dipole and a 300 ohm to 75 ohm balun. You can probably get both for $5-$10 at Radio Shack.

Thanks. A plain piece of wire worked. However, you forgot to tell me it has to be 57' long, which was my problem all along.

I bet 57" will work much better. ;)
