KV-27FS120 27" sony TV

All channels and DVD play. But white horizontal, zig-zagging lines run across the screen. There are about 14 bright white lines going up from right to left and 14 faint lines connecting the bright lines. The lines are slightly concave in the middle of screen. I think I heard a slight pop or crack when the lines appeared.

The TV is 3 years old and I am out of warranty. Is this a possible/ reasonably priced fix or should I get a new TV.

You're probably seeing scan lines 481 through 525 being drawn on the screen as the electron beam is being returned to the top.

The TV is supposed to shut off the electron beam, essentially setting the color to black, during this time slice. I'm not sure what needs to be done to the TV to make that happen again. It could be a menu setting adjustment, a screwdriver adjustment on the circuit board inside the cabinet, or a need to repair or replace something inside.
