Are there any new movies that have come out or are coming out on DVD that are not also released on Blu-ray/HDDVD?

I can't think of any.

I can't think of any.

The only movie I can think of right now is Zodiac, which was released in July on DVD. It's coming in January, though at the same time as the special edition DVD.

In addition, the HD DVD-versions of New Line's movies Hairspray and Rush Hour 3 are not being released together with their respective DVDs. Other than this, I think all of the major movies from 2007 have been released in Hi-def.

Grindhouse on one disc would have been nice. With ALL of the fake trailers.
I would have bought it on release day.

1408 would have made for a great rental.

Sicko.

And please don't quote me and add your off topic political comment, thx.

Sicko is Weinstein. AFAIK, they are the biggest standout of not releasing any recent movies day and date on HDM. New Line would be number two.

Trond, Daddy's Little Girls has already been released on Blu-Ray.

Black Snake Moan was also released on Blu-Ray, not just HD-DVD.

No love for Knocked Up or Superbad? Where's Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix and Evan Almighty?

The above list seems to be missing alot of movies. Off the top of my head, Oceans 13, Order of the Phoenix, Borne Ultimatum, Balls of Fury, Simpsons Movie.

Just to let you know, I believe "Evening" was released on HD DVD from Universal pictures. Also Grindhouse is skedded for early 2008 on HD DVD in Euro territories, as is HAIRSPRAY in December in Italy. I also don't see in your list a SUPERB film just released on DVD which I actually made an exception and bought on SD (a rarity nowadays) called FIDO. I thought it was Lionsgate, but seems to show Sony on the back of my Case, mind you I am in Canada.
I have come to the conclusion as a traditionally early adopter type, that as much as I love High Def and find my HD DVD player a great addition to my HT, I am not inclined to worry as much that silly Studios like Lionsgate, Disney & Fox and Weinstein continue to eschew releasing in HD DVD and/or Blu in the case of Weinstein, as I watched Ratatouille (brilliant film btw) a few weeks ago as a rental DVD on my JVC HD-ILA and was MORE than satisfied with the quality I derived from the SD DVD. Although I realize there may be some noticeable improvements had I watched it on an HD DVD (which Disney Pixar has selfishly deprived me of doing by not releasing in that format), I don't feel - with no side by side direct comparison - that I miss having Blu Ray JUST for the sake of watching the film in Hi Def. I will therefore now adopt a policy of just renting SD of the major titles that are not on HD DVD and buying the major titles that are on HD DVD that I wish to see. Also I don't buy SD DVDs any longer (with rare exception). I do this because I believe the films I most want to own that are now only on BLu ray and not available as imports on HD DVD, will likely eventually be released on HD DVD when the stupid Studio clear their "Heads" (in both meanings).
