I have a 1997 IBM subwoofer Model J-905AV IBM p/n 76H5486 (never used), bought to plug into '97 IBM Aptiva PC (long gone). Can I plug this subwoofer into my '04 Dell Dimension 4500, to enhance sound? The IBM sub has a pink cable which apparently was intended to plug into the Aptiva pc. I see there is a pink input on the Dell, but manual does not explain it's use. Is it safe to try plugging into the Dell? I'm tech challenged!! Thanks.

Forget the color. What is the OUTput on the Dell labelled? Is it on a sound card? Is the IBM sub self-powered?
