i have a velodyne f1500 which i had purchased new in april 1993 in SC. I am running it with an Onkyo DSA777, JBL S38 fronts, C38 center, and l20t rears. This past year the woofer cone edge was repaired and it worked as good as new. Last week a strange pop was heard and now the woofer does not play. I had checked everything, even the internal fuse. I calle Velodyne about this , wanted to just send the rear panel containing all electronics, but was told to send the whole unit. The cost will be at least $100 to ship not counting the repairs that may be the $275 quote or maybe less. I cannot really afford a new replacement so would shipping it worth the total outlay? I was looking at the Velodyne website and the replacement isd the DD12 which retails for $2000. Any similar issues with this same model?
