Not exactly on topic, but I thought this would be the best place to post this since this is where most of my AVS compadres reside.

My wife and I have a new, healthy baby girl! That makes 2 total; both girls.

Her name is Anna Lucile.

She was born yesterday (11/21/07) at 2:04 PM PST.

She was 7# 15oz and 20" long

and she's beautiful!

Both mommy and baby are doing just fine. We're going home tomorrow afternoon to have turkey with the rest of our families.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone!

Thank you.

She's our second. We have a 5 1/2 year old daughter as well (OP updated.)

Yeah, I'm familiar with the sleep thing... and it's already begun.

7, 5, and 19 months.

So much fun when they are young, but once they hit 5, watch out.

Congrats none the less! Tis a beautiful thing!:)

Bring her up right and she'll make some audio nut happy... the bliss that comes with not having to deal with WAF.

Congrats, and after a number of years, with hope, you will be blessed with grandkids who give their parents back the same pains you are about to endure, and you will wonder how your children turned into such great parents. :)

P.S. You've had a wonderful Thanksgiving

2 pre-teen girls here, now you are also outnumbered 3:1 like me ;)

So what is a dad's weapon of choice when dating starts: 12 gauge or rifle? :p

I believe 12 gauge is the traditional choice. Rock salt shells are suggested if you're at close range. :D

Bad Boys 2 scene comes to mind.:D

A great instructional scene for men with daughters.

I plan on mimicking it as best I can when my girls are teens:eek::eek::eek:

Congratulations!!! My wife and I are expecting our first. Due July 1st and I cannot wait. Although my HDM hobby will come to a screeching halt as my wife is going to only work part time. Ahhh, how the priorities change. But I will return soon enough.

Congratulations Sketcha! And especially to the mother. They deserve most of the credit. :)

Apart from the sleep issue, I predict you'll be using the Night mode on your amp a lot from now on. So long lossless! :D

Do you have kids? When you do you tend to want to shout it to the world as it's such an exciting time.

Congrats- Very exciting. My guess is that you'll only need to take out one of the boys when your girls start dating - word or mouth re: the crazy dad will keep the rest away;-)

We've got four: g8-b5-g3-b1mth. People look at me like I've got 2 heads when I tell them we have 4- pretty funny (more funny is I would have done the same thing before I had kids). They are too fun to have around- love seeing how each one is different.

Your real challenge is going to be making time for the AVS forums.

Thank you everyone for your kind words, even Megalith. ;) And FYI, I'm actually kinda' with you on that. I have never, nor will ever post pictures of my children on the net. Also, there is almost no one here that knows my first or last name, nor that of my girls. I am also extremely capable and completely at ease with doing whatever is necessary to protect them. ;)x2

Her birth was filmed in 30fps 480i a-la my wife's Canon A630. I did vote for the Panasonic SD-1 on the Amazon sale, but didn't win. I think it would've come a little late anyway. :)

Thanks again, everyone!

Green. ;)

We didn't find out her gender until the big day. Now all the aunties are going to be shopping for pink, so... I guess you could say red. :)

Oh, BTW, we had Ratatouille on for my niece at pretty high volume, (no added compression) while baby was sleeping in the same room. Slept right through it.

Oh yeah, I'm bringing my girls up RIGHT! If I ever hear about WAF issues from their future husbands, at least when it comes to A/V, they're outa' the will!

What those boys will have instead is FILAF (father-in-law approval factor.) I couldn't have my daughters and sons-in-law running Bose now, could I.

I remember some PMs with you about your girl. It was right after the whole Nielsen thing hit the boards. I believe having a girl is a very good and healthy thing for a man.
