Hi,

I have a Sony Progressive scan DVD/VCR. Didn't think the model was relevant for this question.

I have had this unit for a year/year and a half and when playing dvd's the sound is crackling ocassionally and has to be turned up unusually high to be heard.

Is this something that can br repaired/cleaned or is this just another disposable item.
