I am new to the high def tv world, just picked up this dvd player and the samsung 4661F lcd tv.

I am using a inexpensive certified 1.2a hdmi cable but I am not able to get the video to display on my tv. If I use a RCA video cable the video comes up fine.

The strange part is that the samsung anynet connection scan finds that there is a device attached named DVDP but it can not display the video.

I have tried it with just the hdmi video cable attached to the dvd player I read something in the manual that said with hdmi out you shouldn't have any other video outputs in used or something like that.

I downloaded and burned the firmware off samsungs website but when I went to apply it the player showed that the old version had a bigger number then the new version.

Old Version: 071807.07
New Version: 052107.05

Should I apply this, it looks to me the new version I downloaded and burned is older then whats on the player now.

Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys

I figured out that it does work if everything is turned off and the hdmi cable is removed totally then re connected to the dvd player and to hdmi3 on the tv. After turning on the tv and then the dvd player the video feed comes through on source hdmi3.

However when tring the exact same senario on hdmi1 or hdmi2 the video does not come through. After 30 minutes on the phone with support they came back with the tv needs repairs I asked if there was just a firmware upgrade that would fix the issue but they said there wasn't.

Since I have only had the tv for 10 days I am more inclined to return it then have a tech come out for repairs. The closest autorized repair location is 160kms away.

Any other suggestions anyone would offer in the situation?

Thanks,
Cory
