I am finally ready to replace my HD and I am trying to see what opinions I can get from people who have done so already. I am looking for a good 5400rpm drive with 16MB cache but the largest I've found was 100GB (http://www.techsunny.com/Toshiba_100GB_internal_2.5_Hard/MK1034GSX/partinfo-id-3220262.html). Has anybody seen a larger capacity HD that is 5400rpm and 16 MB cache? IF you found one please post the name or a link.

this is why i wanted to hear some opinions. has anyone who installed a 7200 HD had any overheating issues? my warranty is now up and I dont want to do anything too high risk, but I haven't heard if anyone actually had problems due to the extra temp of a 7200.

I heard alot of talk about not getting the 7200 due to added heat but never really saw any solid info, just all talk. Remember a while back when they would freeze the thing and then let it run in 120 enviorment for like 18 hours, if it can do that, it can handle a hard drive that is a little hotter I'd think.

To each his own but the next time I upgrade I'll do a 7200 also with as much cache as possible.

i saw a site that some guy made, adn the 7200RPM drive was barely any hotter than the 5200, adn offered a decnet performacne gain. i will deifnately go with a 7200 when i upgrade. as of right now, im only using 23gb
