I am new to the Xbox system, having just ordered the 360 elite. I used to love Toe Jam and Earl on the Sega Genesis, and recall that a new version came out on the old Xbox. I looked, but sadly it is not on the list of compatible games for the 360.
I was told, however, that some games not on the list do in fact work. Has any played TJ & E on the 360 with any success? If yes, I will start searching for this game, but no point going crazy if I cannot use it.
Thanks,
Matt

Ah man. Toe Jam and Earl was so awesome on the Genesis. Right now, Toe Jam and Earl doesn't look like it would work, but the new update will let us download old games. So maybe soon, they'll put that up as a download. You could buy it, I found it for less than $15. If you try it, let me know if it works.

a new update will let us download old games? that would be groovy. :) Earthworm Jim would be slick, too. :)

Coming next month.

Might be for the better. Reviews on the 360 TJ&E weren't exactly kind.

Yes I read those reviews, but the original was so unique that its reviews were poor as well. I think I can handle the racial stereotypes and foul language. Plus it will be a kick, especially at $15.

Xbox games will be downloadable but I imagine this will still be dependent on backwards compatability. Not to mention it will probably just be the more popular titles going up so hopes for Toe Jam & Earl may be unmet.

TJ&E III for xbox was pretty fun. If you liked the 1st one you'll love this one.

I think my roommate has TJ&E for the Xbox. If so, I'll give it a shot and report back with my findings.

I was thinking the same thing...The code would still have to be rewritten to play on the 360's OS, whether played on disc or off the hard drive via download.
