Hi, everyone. Just got a Panny as mentioned and am wondering what cables to buy! I know there are different HDMI's like 1.1, 1.2 etc.. Should I just go with the highest #? Also should I buy an optical cable for the PS3 for better sound?
Thanks

I have the 50' PZ77U and I used a digital optical for sound along with a 6ft HDMI cord from Monoprice.

i just got the same Tv. I couldn't wait and didnt want to spend the money on the super exspensive cables, COSTCO had a nice set of cables. It comes with a 6' 1.3 HDMI,opticial and comp. Seem to work great. Noticed a difference from the ones that came with my dirrect tv install

You can use HDMI for video and audio.

Do you have a surround sound receiver?

If not, and you are just using the tv's audio, then HDMI will work just fine.

If you do have a surround sound receiver, then you can either use HDMI to the receiver (if it supports it), or you can use optical, which is what I use.

If you are in the market for HDMI cable, I suggest you check pricing at:

Monoprice HDMI 1.3 cables (http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10243)

Monoprice HDMI cables (http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10240) (scoll down toward the bottom, and you will see the regular HDMI cables, not HDMI 1.3)

I would only suggest getting and using the HDMI 1.3 cables if your TV and audio receiver (if you have one) are capable of supporting it. If they do not, then regular HDMI cables will work just fine! You can still get regular HDMI cables if you want to, even if everything supports HDMI 1.3.
