If I want to have 2 tv's, each with cable coming in and an HD cable box from Comcast on it, can I change the channel independantly so I can be watching and switching two different things at the same time, or would the signal from the remote change both sets (HD cable boxes) to the same channel each time I used it?
I have a couple of reasons for this. I want to be able to watch a sporting event on one tv with no sound and a regular show on the other tv, or I would want to watch a movie on one tv (with headphones) while my wife watches something else on the other tv. Years ago I did this with regular tv's that had the cable plug directly into the tv and they were different manufacturers, so it worked great. It was the ultimate PIP!
Right now, with prices down so much, I can buy 2 tv's for what I was going to pay for one awhile ago, but I never pulled the trigger and didnt buy one. I want a 60" for the main set, and the space for the second tv could handle probably a 37" which would be adequate for my needs, particularly since I sit close to the tv's (just under 8").
But again, my question is really can the two cable HD boxes from Comcast be set up so that if I change one with the remote control, it will NOT change the other one?
Thanks for any help if anyone knows the answer. This would be Comcast in South Florida.
