View Full Version : Can I fix my Panasonic?

My son managed to pull my Panasonic CT-24SL14J out of an entertainment center without smashing himself. Unfortunately, the TV doesn't power up anymore, likely due to the crack I found in the "motherboard." (I'm sure that's not the proper term, but it's what everything inside the TV plugs into)

It looks like it would be pretty easy to pull the old one out and replace it, but things are often more difficult than they look.

Any advice? Is this a do-it-yourself job or do I need to visit the repairman? If it is a plug and play job, where should I look for the part?

Thanks,
Biggen

I'm replying out of compassion for the way my "emergency" was handled on here just prior to Thanksgiving:

Go to the Panasonic website and try to locate their customer service number. If you give them the model & serial numbers they might be able to sell you the mother board. As far as DIY goes, you'd need a load of concentration in a locked room for a few days, to get that new mobo in place. Still, if you purchased the board yourself you could save the markup on that, but you'd have to pay a shop labor for them to put it in.

Good luck!
