I wouldn't worry about the driver size, when properly calibrated with your system that won't be an issue. On a budget the Bic H-100 and AV123 x-sub are great choice and the x-sub is 8". Both will run you $200. If you're budget isn't in that range I'd recommend saving up. You might be able to find a Velodyne locally under $200 with the christmas sales going on, something like the VX10 is a good choice although imo the Bic and X-sub are better choices. lalakersfan34 11-26-07, 12:49 AM Having owned the Velodyne VX-10, I can say that it'll be pretty good if you're in a smaller room that doesn't require a lot of output or deep extension. For its $150 price, it's pretty good with both music and home theater - just don't expect any miracles (it IS only $150, after all). If you can go up to the $200-250 range, Jakeman02's recommendations are excellent. I'm assuming you're in an apartment because of the concern for neighbors. If that's the case and you want to be very considerate of those around you, I'd say any of these subs would be sufficient. However, spending a bit more can get you great, powerful subs from eD (A2-250, A2-300), SVS (PB10-NSD), Hsu (STF-1, STF-2), etc. Check these out, as well as any brick and mortar stores with subs in your price range. Generally, subs from the internet-only companies I listed have a much better price/performance ratio, though, unless you find other subs on a closeout sale. Good luck. rcserg 11-26-07, 01:07 AM Depends on your budget, what's your room size? I wouldn't worry about the driver size, when properly calibrated with your system that won't be an issue.
