I recently purchased an HK AVR-247 along with the Klipsch Quintet III and Synergy Sub 12 along with a PS3. I am a little confused on the whole HDMI thing. I have a Toshiba 34" HD Flat screen TV that can go 540p or 1080i. Originally I was going to run the PS3 to the AVR-247 with a HDMI cable but I dont want the signal down scaled to 540p. So should I just run the PS3 to my tv via HDMI cable? How do I connect the PS3 to the AVR-247 to get the surround effects? Man its been to many years since I have played around with A/V. I bought the PS3 mainlly because of the B/R DVD capabilities. I really thought this was the reciever I wanted but am now wondering if should have bought the Denon AVR-1908 instead. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also would you guys recommend running the Quintets from the sub or the reciever? This system will be used for both home theatre and music listening so I need to wire the sub accordingly so should I use the LFE or use L/R pre-outs, or can both be used? Thanks!!

HDMI won't downscale to 540p. It will send any res.

I have a HK AVR-247 connected to a Pioneer 6010 with Klipsch Quintet III, F-1 for the front channel and Sub 10. I recently added a PS3 to for Blu-Ray. It plays standard DVDs just fine, but it will not play a Blu-Ray disc. I'm using HDMI from the PS3 to the AVR-247 and fromthe AVR-247 to the Pioneer 6010.

Does anyone know where I should look to solve this one?
