Goal: Get my iTunes library to play and be controlled from my home stereo area with max possible fidelity--being limited by 128-bit rate of my iTunes purchases. Also, get "radio" over the same way with less compression than my Polk XM reciever has.

Any way other/better way than Apple TV + airport express? Several devices can do this excepting transfer the "protected" songs I bought from iTunes, such as Slimdevices Squeezebox...alas...

I am not a super-fidelity person--but the XM out of the Polk seems "flavored" a little...

Thanks.

i am going through the same issue as i construct my system. itunes holds my library on my new imac. i am getting ready to purchase a home theater system and want to stream (via 802.11 and Apple TV) itunes content (including itunes radio) to my living room ss system. i know that compression/bit rate is a quality killer but still love the programming options of the online world. xm radio online sq is not great either, but are there any ss receivers that have an xm-online connect capability? do the xm satellite receiver kits do a better job as far as sound quality goes??
