I need to get an HDMI cable for my PS3 to connect it to my, soon to be in my grubby little paws, HDTV. My question is, do I need some specific HDMI cable for the PS3 with a PS3 specific connector or will any HDMI cable do? does the PS3 have a standard HDMI connection on the back? I'm new to HDTV and HDMI so I wasn't sure about the connection on the PS3 end.

I went to Monoprice and got a 6ft male/male HDMI cable...I got a digital optical from Walmart and couldn't be happier!! HDMI to the back of your TV and digital optical to the back of your receiver(if you have one). Your good to go!!!

No, it uses a standard HDMI cable. You only need the Playstation Multi-out A/V cables if you are using component or composite(composite comes in the box).

Great! Thanks for the info guys. :-) I already have an optical digital audio cable coming off the PS3 so I'm set.

Check out bluejeanscables.com as well. They make commercial quality components for cheap.

Think I'll look up some on Monoprice as well, I have seen them mentioned on AVS Forum a few times.
