Does anyone know if the PS3 will show the BT.601 colorspace when watching upscaled SD-DVD and BT.709 for Blu-Ray when watching both via HDMI set to "Y Pb / Cb Pr / Cr" instead of RGB?

Also, I heard that Blu-Ray is encoded using the YV12 4:2:0 colorspace. Is this the same as BT.709?

Please see the following thread for more info on this topic:

I am just wondering if anyone knows about this in the PS3 section of AVS.

You will notice the former HD-DVD insider from Microsoft posted the following:

"SD DVD is encoded in 601. But a number of players when upscaled, don't bother to convert it to 709. The TV thinks that any HD feed is in 709. So if the player does not convert it to 709 space in the process of sending upsampled DVDs, the colors will be wrong...."
