First half of the played fine. Then the freezes, now I can't get the disc out. My Panny displayed a message that there might be a problem with the disc and would power off. I was able to get the disc out and I looked closely at the discs and there are specks all over the disc.

Take a picture and report back. It might be like the Prestige with some sort of disc rot.

Will do. This was a rental from Netflix but I have never had a problem with BDs from them before. The thing is I was really enjoying the movie.

No problem on my BD10...did buy the disk though.

Its a good thing it locked up, its a movie not worth your time. I watched it with my kids and was seriously dissapointed, as were my kids. Perhaps you might like it though, it got some great reviews.

I am not trying to spread FUD, the OP said there were specks all over the disc. Its another BV title so maybe the pressing was messed up. Thats why I asked for pics, I just want to get down to the root of the problem to make sure no FUD is spread.
