I am starting this thread in hopes of getting assistance with picking powered subwoofers. I chose not to go with the in-wall sub. Instead I decided to go with external powered sub. Attached is a bmp of the room.. My plan is to install a powered sub in the sitting area for the distributed audio, then install a powered sub in HT area. As you can see there are no walls in this room (ie a very large room) so this is why I think it is important to purchase the correct sub for each area and application. Of course one sub will be used for audio only, and the other is for HT.

To give you an idea, I was looking at the HTD level 3 powered sub for both area, but they are out of the color I need. So back to the drawing board.

I thank all in advance for any and all assistance.

Why not just get one killer sub for both?

Tell me more. How do you share a bass box. To let you know, the distributed audio is totally separate from the home theater.

I'm sure you can buy an audio switch at Radio Shack. And it will cost a LOT less than a second sub! :D

But why do you even want two systems? I have a single setup in my living room which I use for both HT and 2-channel. Why not just do that?

I guess I was not very clear as to what I am exactly doing. I am installing a Cav 6.6 whole house audio system + compoint. They also have a Home theater area that is pretty much separate from the audio system. The room is very large. i have been told that the audio will sound much fuller in the room if a person installs a subwoofer in the room. So I have purchased all the speakers required for the house except the powered sub. This will distribute as many as six sources throughout the house. The cav 6.6 will be controlled by the UNOs2 keypads and the compoint is controlled by the advanced keypad.

Thanks again
