My friend got the movie free with his PS3 and watched it. He gave it to me to watch and I put it in my machine and it would not play. It came up with some 800XXXX code. I have the latest firmware, Whats wrong?

Aree you using the PS3 too to watch SM3? Are you sure you have the 2.01 firmware installed? Mine plays fine.

Mne plays fine too, even on 2.0.

Take it back, I had two that wouldn't play in my Pioneer with the latest firmware.

I just got SM3 and PS3 too and it played fine. FW is at 1.8 I think. It upgraded to 1.8 from 1.5 when I tried to play MS for first time.

My guess is that he doesn't own the PS3 but another blu ray player. I read that SM3 had some problems with some players other than the PS3.

It works on my friends PS3, but when I tried it on my PS3 it came up with a code. I wonder if I have to do a hard reset after upgrading to 2.01. My other Bluray disc work good. I thought there might be some type of encrytion that prevented the disc from playing on another machine.

exactly...my PS3 arrives soon and the Spider Man III will not play on mine either...meaning I won't open it, but rather sell it. I did like the first two movies.

Have seen this movie and figured out the plot and storyline in the first 10 minutes of the film. No suspense.

It even played with older firmware on mine.
And I liked the movie but SM2.1 is the best of all. The fights in that version are a lot more intense. Spidey punches lots more!!!:)

Well what I did was a hard reset, turned off power for a few seconds and then tried the movie and it worked!
