Hello all, and thanks in advance for your help.

I am interested in the Hsu vtf3-mk3 subs. The big question is should I get it with or without HO?

Currently my room setup is quite small, and the current equipment is:
Yamaha 2700 reciever
Onix Rocket RS-450 fronts
Onix Rocket BIgfoot center channel
Definitive Tech BP-2 surrounds.

How large is your room? I have an HSU 3.3 w/o turbo and I think it sounds really great. My room size is 15 X 21 and this sub fills in bass very nicely, I have the gain turned about 25%. It has no problem at all shaking my room/walls.

Much smaller than your room.....I'd say it is maybe 15x10x10. Maybe. But hopefully I won't be there for long.

WIth either sub I am not interested in the Turbo. And should I decide at some later date that I need it, I can always add it.

My advice is try it without the turbo, you may find that you do not need it.

I think he is trying to decide between the 3.3 and the HO. I really can't help to much myself when I got the HO there was no 3.3. I know that owners like them both, the HO will go a little deeper with less distortion and the 3.3 has a little more output in the upper bass. I think with either in your room once it is calibrated you would be happy. My room is very large and an open floorplan so I added the MBM-12.

The decision is tough but the listening will be great. Wasn't the 3.3 on sale recently?

owsly, the -3 Mk3 is arguably the better value right now, especially on sale. Since you are planning on running only in max output mode, I would probably just go with a single -3 Mk3 (and perhaps add MBM-12 at some point too).

Sincerely,
